Dental Procedures

Annual dental exams and cleanings are recommended to help keep your pets mouth healthy and clean.

Why do Pets need dental care?

Studies show that 80% of pets that are 3 years of age and older have some degree of periodontal disease which can cause tooth infection and pain. Periodontal disease can also lead to other health problems related to the heart, kidneys and liver.

How is a dental performed on my Pet?

In order to safely and properly examine and clean your pets teeth, we have to use general anesthesia. All teeth are examined for pockets around the root and/or root exposure. If teeth are healthy then a routine cleaning (electronic scaling) and polishing is performed. If needed teeth that are so diseased where treatment would be unsuccessful are extracted. A Doctor will review any post operative medications and instructions with you.
